Semantic scholar search
An MCP tool from the Public Knowledge server, hosted on mcp.hjlabs.in.
Search Semantic Scholar for papers with citation counts, influential citation counts, TLDR summaries, open-access PDFs and external ids (DOI, arXiv). The anonymous API is tightly rate limited, so this is capped to about 20 searches a minute service-wide; use openalex_search or crossref_search when it is busy.
Name on the gateway: knowledge__semantic_scholar_search · read-only.

How to call it
Through the Smart Gateway, any client can run it by name with call_tool, or let the gateway find it with search_tools:
